My closest friends and family will know I’ve been a horsey girl almost all my life. Like a lot of young girls I fell in love with ponies from a young age, and was very lucky that my parents supported that passion and led me into the world of horses. When I see this photo, that little girl in me is jumping around and squeaking a with excitement, it’s a dream come true!
When TJ and I were given the chance to rent the equestrian center for a year we were so grateful, we had the opportunity to see if we can realise our dreams and but also to experience the highs and lows of running a business with horses. While it’s not easy, we were given the opportunity to get creative and put some of our long dreamed about ideas into fruition. We have had SO MUCH support from family and friends, and friends of Dekema. The Manege Dekema “family” is huge, so many supporters far and wide sharing our enthusiasm for all the new activities we are bringing to life.
The 1 year “test” period is now coming to an end, and a decision had to be made if we really want to go for it or not. Should be a simple “YES!” some might say, but it is a huge step for us. If we go for it, we go for it 100%. That means big, brave decisions and realising that it will be HARD work and a BIG commitment for our whole family, all in.
After a lot of discussions, planning, reasoning and honest conversations, we decided YES, we are going for it, YES, we are going all in, 100%. There is still a long way to go before we are there, but the decision has at least been made that we are going for it!
We have come a long way in a year, but what we have already achieved is really just the beginning…… watch this space as we strive to bring all of those crazy dreams to life!
