We are on the road again! On to our next adventure…..it felt a bit weird leaving Collins Pastures this morning, having spent nearly a month at the dairy farm of Danielle and Brogan. We were made to feel so welcome on their farm and in their family, our kids got so close to theirs that they were even arguing like brothers and sisters by the end 🙈. Brogan and TJ bonded too, with their late night hunting (possums and hares – both considered a pest to farmers) and the same taste in dodgy jokes and less dodgy music 😋. TJ has loved helping out milking the cows, he considers himself a bit of an expert now, checking out cow sheds as we are driving along and probably thinking maybe he would like to be some sort of dairy farmer when we go home (he’s always dreaming). So it was a bit of a sad farewell this morning, but we will be stopping in again in about 10 months time when we are on our way back to Auckland and towards home. ❤️
1st Jan…..new day, new year, new challenges, new memories…..looking forward to seeing what 2019 will bring us! More like, what we will make it. I am a firm believer that you have to make your own luck. So, we are going to make this year a good one! 💪🏻
Today we are heading to Tuapau, which is just South of Auckland. We are house sitting again, this time for 10 days while a family goes off on their summer holidays. We are now registered with the Kiwi House Sitting association and available to house sit for any peeps that need their house and usually more importantly animals looked after during holidays. What a great idea! This is the first time we will be house sitting for “strangers”, but I’m sure it will be a breeze, will report back later!
