Yesterday we went shopping. Shopping for bedding, plates, cutlery etc for our caravan. We were searching all of the 2nd hand shops and we are all set for around 75 NZ$ (about 45 euros). Duvets, pillows, sheets, covers, towels, plates, cutlery, cups, beer and wine glass (very important). Sorted.
It was time to leave the comfort of our luxurious cottage and head North. All being well we will be able to pick up our caravan tomorrow, it just needs to pass the road worthy test (everything crossed!). So we packed up the car, full to the brim with 2 kids somewhere buried in the back. The caravan we have found is about 2.5 hours drive north from where we were staying in Whangaparaoa.
It was quite hot in the car (no surprise) so we decided to stop off along the way in Waipu Cove, a little beach town on the East coast of Northland. WOW…. what a beautiful beach! The waves were crashing in and the sand was sparkling, it was truly a magical view. The kids were set loose and wanted to play in the sea so the clothes were stripped and off you go in your knickers! The video says it all, pure bliss.
After a nice cool off in the sea we headed on to Whangarei where we are staying in a B&B for the night. Very excited about tomorrow, really hope the caravan passes and we can really start our adventure!!
