Jetlag is a bitch. Just when you think you are getting into the right time zone she pops up her head and says “oh nooooo, it’s 5pm and you must sleeeep” and we all fall asleep and wake up at 9pm wondering what the hell just happened, what day is it, where am I? Then trying to keep the kids awake long enough to shovel some food in before they collapse again in bed, only to wake again at 4.30am full of energy. We’ll get there in the end, I’m just impatient 😊
So what have we being doing so far? Well we’ve only been here 4 and a half days but it feels like longer. Basically…….
School work with teacher Mummy ❤️
Searching searching searching for cars and caravans
Viewing cars and caravans
Researching car insurance/banking/mobile phones
Scouring 2nd hand shops for a fishing rod, TJ is determined to “provide food for the family” like a real man 😂
Do fun stuff with the kids – beach, flying a kite, fishing (yes he found one), playing
Researching how to survive on a budget in New Zealand
But mostly it’s just like this… no rush. Just go for a walk. No rush to get back. No timetable. Just be. Clear head. Full heart. Moments and moments and moments. Listen to the kids. Laugh with the kids. Be silly with the kids. Sleep when you’re tired. Secret smiles between Mummy and Heitie – we did it. I’m not saying it’s all sweetness and light, there are of course still moments of frustration and arguments, but that’s also healthy, right?
Oh and it looks like we have found our car, fingers crossed! I’ll introduce her next time….
Really enjoyed reading your blog this morning, you are on an amazing journey & I will enjoy following you on here & Facebook.
